Hay Rides + Horse Poop = Quality Family Time

Bob and D on the hay ride

Sunday we had a wonderful day outside with the kids as we took a trip to Mapleside farms. We have never been there before, but all the parents we know said it's a great way to spend the day. They have horse drawn hay rides, pumpkin patches, apple picking, corn mazes and the most beautiful fall scenery I've ever seen. We went on a hay ride, which both kids loved. We were lucky enough to sit upfront and had the perfect view of the horses big butt. And, we were even luckier when the horse took a dump during our ride. The kids weren't the only ones who got a laugh out of that. Believe that Bob and I were cracking up harder than anyone else. After the hay ride, we walked around and took in all that fall has to offer. It really was something to see.
Me & Grace (I should have flipped my shades for this pic)
On Saturday we ended up skipping the race for a cure. It was only 30 degrees at 7am when we would of had to leave. We decided that was way to cold to have G&D outside in for 2 or 3 hours. So instead we turned Saturday into a cleaning day. (I know, way too fun.) But really, it wasn't so bad. Bob and I got the kids involved and we got soooooo much done. It felt great once we were finished. Then it was on to the Ohio State game at 3:30, where the Buckeyes won ANOTHER game against the Fartans (I mean Spartans.) In the evening we went next door and had a bon fire. So now the dreaded Monday is upon us again. And man, it feels like a Monday. I have not one ounce of energy today. None! Tomorrow is another day.

Looks like you had an amazing weekend! Here is one of my favorite soup recipes!

Chicken Tortilla Soup
1/2 C onion
3 boneless chicken breasts cooked and chunked up
1 garlic clove
1 jar salsa
2-3 cans chicken broth
1 can diced tomatoes undrained
1 can green chilies
1 can corn and green beans
1 can kidney beans

I simmer all of this all day long in the crock pot then top with crushed tortilla chips and shredded cheese! So good!
