ALMOST THERE

First of all, thank you Gamma Debbie and Papa Joe for taking the babes Friday night. They took not only G&D, but also Joey. Three kids, ages 2, 2 1/2 and 3. Brave, brave souls they are. You all know usually when Bob and I get a night without G&D, we are out on the town acting the way we did when we were in college. This Friday was different. Bob put me to work. We spent the entire evening working on the kitchen. We primed and started the back splash. We were up late and awake early. Bob grabbed us some breakfast on his way home from the Depot, then we finished out the splash. It turned out fantastic.
The kids came back home Saturday around noon and we played until nap time. Then we took another trip to Home Depot and picked out our paint. After G&D went to bed, we painted until the wee hours of the morning.
Sunday we decided to take a break. It was a beautiful day outside and we wanted to enjoy it. So we spent the morning playing in the backyard and then went out to lunch at nasty Applebees. By the time we pulled up into the driveway at home, the kids were asleep. They went and napped and instead of doing more work, Bob and I napped also. It wasn't until 4pm that we all woke back up, and I felt like it was 4am. So I brewed some coffee and headed back outside. The neighbor kids were out so they came over and played until bed time. Now all the beans are sleeping and I am out in my sun room enjoying the calm of the evening.
I have another article due tomorrow for Parents for Parents magazine. However, I ran into a little problem about a week ago. I was writing away, close to my 1000 words. I thought I saved my draft only to realize later that I didn't. That has never happened to me before. I was almost in tears when I realized what I had done. It was one of those nights where I was writing away, and everything was flowing perfectly. I was so excited to finish the next morning. Since then, I have tried to re-write what I had already written, but it wasn't coming to me. So now I am stuck on the 193 words that saved and I have nothing more to write. I keep staring at the blinking cursor and nothing is coming. That's probably why this post is so long, I'm procrastinating.
Tomorrow I will try to post some kitchen pics and other good kiddie pics from the weekend.
