Keyless in C-town

What do you do when your toddler rips off approximately 10 keys from your new lap top?
We left the room for maybe 1 minute, tops. And I could try for an hour to rip one key off and I'd be unsuccessful.
So what do you do?
Besides the obvious, which to me would be beating that child with the damaged lap top...
What is the responsible, the "good parent" thing to do?

AHHH, I don't have an answer for you. That is horrible! I'm assuming you are talking about Grace and she should know better right? I haven't gotten to that age level yet so I don't have any good advice for you. I am interested to see what other people say so I'll stay tuned!

Did you get the keys back on? I think Nolan did that to ours a year or so ago, but it was only a couple and we were able to pop them back on. I am the bad parent to ask, because my first instinct would have been what you said, "beat child w/said laptop". Unfourtunately, I probably would've yelled and freaked out a bit, and then felt bad later when I would've realized it is just a laptop and they were trying to imitate me.I hope you were able to fix it!

yikes! I'm with Kara, I think you might be able to pop them back on. I have a super short fuse and tend to yell and then react and than rationalize. I wish I had helpful parenting tips, but I'm sorry I don't. Good luck!

It was Denny. And we were able to get most of the keys back on.

my 5 year old can be really destructive when she wants to be, but only with other people's things. so if she breaks someone elses toy, i throw one of hers away. it's hard on everyone!

but with a 2 year old? there isn't much you CAN do! ;-D those little fingers can get right in there eh?
