TAKING A CHANCE W/ CHANTIX

I know I should not blog about this, b/c every time I do, I fail. But...
I am in the process of quitting the cigs again. What's different about this time is that I am NOT doing it cold turkey. I have tried and failed with that method way too many times. So I am taking these pills called Chantix. They don't contain nicotine like all the other quit smoking things out there. Instead, the pills block your brain receptors that make you crave smokes. I have heard so many good things about Chantix, so I'm jumping on the bandwagon. I am on day 9 (most people are on it for 12 weeks,) but only day 2 of not smoking. The first week while you are on the pills, you continue to smoke. Then on the 8th day you up the dose and go from there. So far, my only complaint is the insanely strong headaches that I have had. They suck and are making me miserable, but it is so going to be worth it.

Please, again, wish me and Bob luck in our journey to the dark side :) WE WILL BE NON-SMOKERS!

~I promise pictures on my next post. I have some goodies to share, just haven't had time to get them up yet.~

Good luck Amanda. I really hope you can kick it for good this time. Coming from someone who did quit, I promise you, you'll feel SO much better. And you are doing something really great for your kids.

GOOD LUCK, I CAN'T EVEN IMAGINE HOW HARD IT IS TO QUIT. IT IS EASY TO SIT ON THE OUTSIDE AND THINK YOU CAN JUST QUIT LIKE NOTHING, BUT IT ISN'T THAT WAY AT ALL! You are in our thoughts!

Good luck Amanda. While I have never personally went through it, many people in my family have tried to quit smoking and I sympathize with you. It seems like an extremely difficult challenge.

Keep us posted on how you are doing with it!

Amanda, I wish you the best of luck with Chantix! It's been working really well and, with my full cooperation, of course, Thursday will be 60 days smoke-free after smoking 20+ years. I do hope you'll write about your experience. I've been blogging my way through my own along with lot of other folks that I have linked over on my blog, and both reading and writing about the Chantix experience has helped tremendously.

Good luck to you!
