JUNO

I watched "Juno" last night. It took me a good half an hour to get into b/c I felt like I was watching a high school kids movie. But then I was hooked and fell madly in love with it's originality.
I also appreciate a movie that is 96 minutes long. Is anyone else sick of all these new movies coming out that are 2+ hours?

CAN YOU TELL ME HOW TO GET, HOW TO GET TO...

This weekend was full of goodness.
The best part was going to the theatre with the kids. We took them to see Seasame Street Live, Elmo Makes Music. Their first time in Palace Theatre means the world to me. I love going into the theatre district of Cleveland. It truly is all inspiring. The beauty of these buildings are something you need to see first hand. The kids enjoyed the show. They were bobbing their heads, clapping their hands the entire time.
Friday we hung with Beckie and Pete and I finally saw a pic of Becks wedding dress. Can I just say gorgous!
Saturday after naps we went to Tracy's where Bob did some "stuff" around the house. Then we went shopping for D and came home for movie night. We watched
Michael Clayton and it wasn't as good as I had anticipated. Still worth seeing, but I don't understand all the hype.

I finished reading a
Twist of Lennon (loved it,) and began reading John, also by Cythia Lennon.

Sunday is always my sleepy day. Bob woke with the kids and took them to breakfast. Then he grabbed the dog and went to Pet Smart for food and other goodies. I slept until 10am and woke to silence. I brewed some coffee, read the paper and waited for the fam to come back home.
I have been battling a crippling headache for the past 2 days. Today I didn't even leave the house or get out of my jammies for that matter.
A new week approaches, another snow storm is heading our way. Let's pray it's the last one for the year!

WE'RE OFF TO SEE THE WIZARD...

I look at this picture, and all I imagine is us following the yellow brick road. Of course I just finished reading Wicked, so that may have something to do with it.
Now that I am done with Wicked, I have moved on to
The Bonesetter's Daughter. My Mom just finished reading it and loved it, so she passed it along to me. I am also eagerly awaiting 2 books that I recently bought on Ebay. The first is John, by Cynthia Lennon and the other is Cynthia Lennon's other book about her life as a Beatle wife, A Twist of Lennon.

I am on my Beatles kick again thanks to my friend Correne. I used to work with her at Safeguard and we spent many work hours talking about books and music. Her and I are very simialr in our love of reading, writing and music. Last Friday Bob and I went to Correne and Scot's house for dinner and cards. They had the best Beatles memorabilia which included books and amazing photographs. Every room you walk into in their house has something Beatles in it. I loved it.

Before I sign off, I want to give a Dirty 30 Birthday shout out to my beautiful friend Jen in Watertown. Happy Birthday ( i know it's tomorrow) and I wish I could be back in Watertown NY with you guys to celebrate the big day! Have fun.

LIGHTS IN THE CITY

This weekend we ventured downtown to go see the lights at Public Square. I've lived in Cleveland almost my entire life and have never been downtown to see the lights.

The lights were nice and got me more into the xmas spirit, but it was Old Stone Church that took my breath away. I can't believe I have never noticed this church before. It's one of the most gorgeous things I've seen. One of these days after the holiday madness I would love to go to mass there. I can only imagine what the inside looks like. My camera ran out of juice so I didn't get a picture of it.

Other goodies this weekend included watching Superbad. If you haven't see it yet, rent it. You'll get a good laugh. But don't watch it around the kids unless you want the F-bomb to become their word of choice.

LOVE THE ONES YOU'RE WITH

Typically, when one thinks of what they would do on a wedding anniversary, they think "alone time" with the one they love. This is especially true, I believe, when you have children.
We didn't have a sitter last Saturday on our anniversary. But you know what we did have? The best day ever.
I must admit, I was bummed at first. I wanted to go away for a night to a cabin in the woods. I envisioned being alone, no phones, lots of champagne, hot tub, fireplace....you get the idea.

That didn't happen and I'm so glad it didn't.

We started the day early with breakfast out at a little diner. Then we went to Target and did some Halloween decoration shopping. It was a blue sky, San Diego weather day and we took full advantage of it.
We shared Beautiful, tear-jerking cards, flowers that fit the season perfectly, and lots of self portraits.

After naps all around, we had a romantic dinner for four at our favorite Italian restaurant Bucci's.

Even though we said "no gifts," my loving kids saved their change and got me a new gadget for my i-pod. It's not only speakers/docking station, but it also has a CD player and radio. Plus, it's in pink, thanks to my baby girl picking it out. Did I mention it has a remote? That makes me happy b/c sometimes I am a lazy gal.

I was so excited for my new toy I downloaded lots of tunes from Deathproof soundtrack (Chick Habit, Hold Tight, & Down in Mexico) then danced my ass off in the kitchen with Denny. It was a good day for everyone and I am thankful we spent it with the kids.

SOMETHING ABOUT TATER TOTS

I don't have much to blog about, so I thought I'd share a picture of a Napoleon Dynamite look-a-like that we ran into last weekend at The Garage. These pictures don't do him justice though; in person he looked, sounded and acted like that geek we all love.
Happy Friday! Hope everyone enjoys the weekend.
